ET-FRH is the outstanding showjumper. He has won everything ! From national competitions in Germany to the Olympic Games in Atlanta, and the World cup in Geneva in 1996, the champion has shown his talent and the performance of his genetics. His prizes list is unique !

Even at 17 years, in 2004, he remains in front of the international scene, with his victory in the Grand Prix of Münster. Hugo Simon, his rider and owner, considers ET-FRH as the horse of his life.

ET-FRH, who is castrated, will unfortunately have no offsprings. That is why Cryozootech presented its solution to Hugo Simon. At first, he was disconcerted, then he understood well that it meant to give birth to an "ET-stallion", and not to a second jumper.

Eric Palmer took cells on the champion's chest in the stables of Hugo Simon in Germany. Once cultivated and frozen in liquid nitrogen at -196°c, the genetics can be preserved safely.

Birth of E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion, clone of “E.T.” show jumping champion, which shall generate offspring.

CRYOZOOTECH is happy to announce the birth of E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion, clone of “E.T.” show jumping gelding, who has had with the rider Hugo Simon the best record of winning in show jumping. “E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion” will give the possibility to breeders to dispose of the castrated “E.T.”’s genes. Birth of E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion’s first offspring is planned for 2009.

Castrated at three years old, champion between 7 and 16

E.T., a horse coming from Hanover, is now 20. Between 1994 and 2003, he won all major show jumping competitions: twice winner of the World Cup, N°1 on the World ranking for 3 years in a row. E.T. is a modern horse: light, rapid and nimble. Unfortunately, as this type of horse was not the standard in Hanover region, 20 years ago, he was castrated at three, before anyone could foresee his exceptional qualities. Without the cloning technique, he would have been lost for breeders who are looking for exceptional genetic. E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion, who has exactly the same genetic heritage as E.T., will be able to give a lineage.

International cooperation to preserve an exceptional genetic heritage

In September 2003, Hugo Simon, E.T.’s rider, and Eric Palmer, who founded the French company Cryozootech, decided together that E.T. should have offspring. Thus a skin biopsy was carried out on this horse who, at the time, was still participating in high competitions. E.T.’s cloning process was started in collaboration with the Texas University, who had already participated with the production of Quidam de Revel’s clone.

E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion, future stallion

E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion was born on 2^nd June 2006. Like E.T., he has a stripe and two socks on his hind legs but the fine and side ways stripe on his nose is very different from E.T.’s blaze. On the other hand, the DNA test carried out by the official laboratory LABOGENA has shown the same identical genetic content.

E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion will be registered in the Belgium studbook « Stud-book Zangersheide » which was founded by Léon Melchior. As soon as 2001, M. Melchior has shown his support to horse cloning, and confirmed it later by registering the first two clones produced by Cryozootech: Pieraz-Cryozootech-Stallion and Paris-Texas, Quidam de Revel’s clone.

Even before his birth, many international breeders, who wish to dispose of this exception genetic, have participated to this project by contributing to set up the syndicate, which is proprietor and managing authority of E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion, and is divided in 200 shares.

E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion will come to France in Cryozootech’s stud where he will progressively during his second year start his work as a stallion and progress to conducting it fully after his third birthday.

Therefore the few mares, which will be inseminated in 2008, will give birth in 2009 to the first generation of foals fathered by E.T.Cryozootech-Stallion.

Cryozootech, leader in sport horse cloning

Cryozootech, founded in 2001 to preserve rare genetic heritage, has realised the above-mentioned projects.

Cryozootech is awaiting this summer the birth of Calvaro V clone and next year the birth of Rusty's clone, the great dressage champion. Furthermore, across the world seven orders for clones of sport horses have been taken on behalf on their owners. In total, Cryozootech genetic bank has today the cells of 49 horses.
